The train station in Bad Wimpfen was built in 1868 by the Baden district building authority of Heidelberg from local, yellowish sandstone. Since the railway in Baden had been running from Heidelberg to Sinsheim-Steinfurt since 1862 and in Württemberg wagons were pulled under steam from Heilbronn to Jagstfeld, there was still a small gap. This was closed with the construction of the train station in Bad Wimpfen and the connecting tracks.

The spa administration acquired the station and a monument-compliant renovation of the station was carried out. A restaurant and city information center have moved into the building. Bad Wimpfen station is the only station in southern Germany built in the neo-Gothic style. The building is a cultural monument and a listed building.

Using the Bad Wimpfen train station is a very nice solution if you want to visit the city. Parking is large, but the flow of tourists is usually larger!
