It was completed in 1897 and had a checkered history with ups and downs.
In 1980, Armin and Hildtraud Strohschein acquired the hotel and successfully ran it with a restaurant until they sold it to a Viennese company in 2010 for health reasons. The listed Wörthersee jewel would only have been renovated under the new owner if the city of Klagenfurt had also leased the ten-meter-long shoreline between the shipyard and Albatros. This deal failed. Darufhin emblazoned a huge poster with the inscription "FOR SALE" on the facade. Now it's quite derelict and derelict.
