Collégiale / Stiftskirche (or Collegiate Church), Neuchâtel
The collegiate (or collegiate) church, construction of which began in the late 12th century, was consecrated in 1276. It is currently being restored internally. This restoration will take place in several stages and will extend over several years. Brief description of the outside: in front of the castle portal, three apses catch the eye for the beauty of their Romanesque decoration. Only the south tower is old, the spire and the north tower were built in 1869. The collegiate church, which was Catholic until the Reformation in 1530, has been used for worship by Neuchâtel's Protestant parish ever since. On leaving the collegiate church, cross the west terrace and cross the small bridge from the donjon to the foot of the fortification walls
