Fontaine du Banneret "The Banner Lord Fountain", Neuchâtel
Fontaine du Banneret (“Banner Lord Fountain”), the oldest fountain outside the first city walls, was originally intended for watering cows and horses. Later it was enlarged. In 1581, Laurent Perroud gave it its current appearance

The intensely colored and beautifully decorated fountains are one of the highlights in the center of Neuchatel, which is otherwise somewhat wedged between mountains and lake with a highway and railway line in between.
