The old Jewish cemetery was opened in 1750 and occupied until 1890. According to a source from 1821, "the Jews of Obernburg" (= Ebernburg) were buried in Altenbamberg. The cemetery area covered an area of 18.40 acres. Around 1870 the cemetery was fully occupied. In 1949, only some of the gravestones were left in the cemetery, which had previously been completely overgrown, two of which were completely destroyed and two of which had been knocked over. In 1965 around 20 gravestones were discovered. Today ten gravestones remain, several of which are only fragments.
