The Kloosterkazerne is a national monument with a chic appearance in the center of Breda. The last monastic order left in the 17th century, between 1814 and 1975 the building was used as barracks. The East Wing was demolished in 1995 and the Chassé Theater was built on that site. In 1998 the municipality put the remaining part on the market. Holland Casino has bought and restored the Kloosterkazerne. The casino opened in June 2003.
