The Oder Dam in the Harz Mountains is located above Bad Lauterberg in the Göttingen district of Lower Saxony and impounds the Oder River, a tributary of the Rhume. The dam was commissioned in 1934 after three years of construction and is owned and operated by the Harz Waterworks.

From the dam wall, there is a beautiful view of the reservoir and the forebay.
