If there are no events, it's fun to explore the area by bike. A delicious sausage and a beer are available all day in the beer garden at the end of the area.

Nice place somehow. I'm not an excessive Pfedefan but still like to be here.

The actual Karlshorst racecourse was built towards the end of the 19th century.
In 1895, the Carlshorst station was put into operation and a six-track terminal station was built next to the suburban platform especially for racecourse visitors.
In 1945, on the orders of the Soviet city commander, Colonel General Bersarin, the facility was converted into a trotting track and its area doubled. During the division of Germany, this was the only trotting track in the GDR. After reunification, the Treuhandanstalt leased the Karlshorst equestrian facility to the Mariendorf trotting club, which withdrew in 2004. After TLG Immobilien, a successor to the Treuhandanstalt, divided the area, half of it was sold to the newly founded Equestrian Park Berlin-Karlshorst e.V. and the other half as building land. The building land was created by demolishing some stable buildings, the casino and the riding arena and is now largely built on with single and multi-family houses, which form the Carlsgarten settlement area.
