A local farmer informed us from his jeep that there was no access further up the road and he continued to drive up and down the road until we left. We asked was it private land but he continued to just say there is no access. We returned and descended to Ballyvourney which worked out great as we had a nice lunch and a pint of Murphys. We cycled along the road for a bit and re-joined the route. Best to avoid this section, I pland to look for another route in this direction back to the start to keep the route off the main road. However, the road section from Ballyvourney was safe on a Sunday but it can get busy.
