The Strandbad Farmsen has been operated by the "Verein Strandbad Farmsen e.V" since July 6, 1988. Due to a significant drop in visitors, the Hamburg waterworks wanted to close the lido in 1987. In the interest of the population in the Farmsen catchment area, the association has taken it over.
