In Wierzchowisko, on June 16, 2020, a plaque commemorating Franciszek and Józefa Sow was unveiled.

Franciszka (née Ślązak vel Szlązak) and Józef Sowie ran a farm in Wierzchowisko. They had five children: Eugeniusz, Irena, Józef, Janina, Piotr, and they were expecting their sixth child. During the German occupation, Józef worked occasionally as a carpenter and wheelwright. Thanks to his work in the Częstochowa ghetto, he had a permit to visit him. There he met several Jews who turned to him for help. In the summer of 1942, Józef and his son Eugeniusz built a hiding place for them under their barn. There he placed people who were helped to escape from the Częstochowa ghetto.

On September 1, 1943, German soldiers came to Sowie looking for a hideout for Jews. Those in hiding, as well as Franciszka and Józef Sow, were shot. The Owl farm was looted and burned down.
