Opening times of the basilica in summer (May 1st - September 30th) from 6.30 a.m. to 7 p.m. The 14 holy helpers in need are three bishops, three knights, three young men, three virgins, an abbot and Christopher with the baby Jesus. According to tradition, they should have appeared in 1446 to the shepherd boy Hermann Leicht on the grounds of the former Frankenthal estate.

The baroque pilgrimage basilica Vierzehnheiligen was built by the famous architect Balthasar Neumann and was only extensively renovated a few years ago.
