WIEFELSTEDE There will be a lot of digging going on in 2016 at the rain retention basin on the Hörner Diek in Wiefelstede. In order to adapt the storage volume there to the current requirements, 270 100 euros are to be spent on desludging, deepening and enlarging the two drying basins. That is what the Road and Transport Committee recommends.
In addition, in 2018 the committee recommended that the pelvis be enlarged again, which will cost around 58,000 euros. Overall, the basins on the Hörner Diek can currently hold around 10,000 cubic meters of surface water. After completing both measures, it should be around 17,500 cubic meters. For this purpose, three inlets to the drying basins will initially be lowered in 2016, the drying basins then deepened by around 25 centimeters and also enlarged.

A beautiful ecosystem that consists of several bodies of water and is populated by ducks, among other things - a pretty backdrop.
