In September 1988, a huge rockslide occurred close to Darbang village in the Myagdi Khola Valley (1,100 m). The landslide killed many people and buried all the houses along the riverbank. The debris dammed the Myagdi Khola for several hours. Fortunately, the debris was gradually eroded by the river without causing flooding in the downstream region.
