"La Luce", a newspaper in Salerno and its province, dedicated the entire 4-page supplement, Saturday 16 June 1894, to the chronicle of the inauguration, which took place the previous Sunday, of the spa located on the hills between Faiano and Santa Tecla. The initiative was born by the will of a thirty-year-old lawyer of conspicuous birth, Alberto Morese (1864-1898), who three years earlier had already started the bottling of "Morese mineral water", sulphurous-alkaline-ferruginous, drawn from the source " stinking water ", usual toponym, for example. in the upper and middle Sele, to indicate sources emanating a strong smell of sulfur, distributed in cafes and food outlets in Salerno (we have an eye on a poster poster of August 1891 with the list of sales places), and with a reputation for “miraculously healthy” water, as the writer writes.

The young entrepreneur Morese wanted to do things big, and to finance the works of the plant he generously drew from his family assets. Thus was born, totally self-financed, the elegant structure consisting of ".. everything that modern therapy prescribes .. from cold and hot baths, to Russian ones - from the highly perfected system - from Turkish baths to showers, irrigations, etc.".
