The Weißensee was created in the Ice Age by the Lech Glacier and has a length of about 2.4 kilometers, a mean width of about 600 meters and a depth of up to 25 meters. In summer, the lake invites with its blue-green water for swimming. In the district lake there is an attractive outdoor pool. The lake with the mountains in the background offers a wonderful backdrop.

Going around the lake by bike is problematic, there are narrow passages and sometimes you have to carry your bike.
On foot, but with sturdy shoes, it is a wonderfully beautiful circular route, also suitable for children and leisure hikers. The entire circular route offers great views and is provided with numerous information boards and rest areas. It is worth taking a detour to the St. Nicholas Church in the Oberkirch district or to the rectory and the St. Walburga parish church with the high altar by Dominikus Zimmermann in the Weissensee district.
