The Bosmolen in Egmondermeer near Egmond aan den Hoef drains the polder of the Egmondermeer. The mill was already built (in 1565) before the lake was drained.

However, it was shut down in 1948 and dismantled in 1953. There was still an electric pumping station in the mill after those years. At the end of the 1980s, Molenstichting Alkmaar en Omstreken was founded, with the aim of restoring the Bosmolen, which was successful in 1993, so that the mill can grind again.
