This historic center of the D-Day paratroopers is located at a crossroads that soldiers called the Carrefour de l'Homme Mort because an American tank was destroyed during the fighting for the liberation of Carentan and the body of a killed American officer still remains. hung on the armored turret for a few days. The current museum was the headquarters of the German defenders of Carentan until 6 June 1944. After the capture of Carentan it became a field hospital. The museum is dedicated to the paratrooper companies and displays a large collection of artifacts and uniforms from both camps.
