Mountaineering Highlight
The Sonnenkopf is a 1712 meter high Grasberg near Sonthofen. From here you have wonderful views down into the valley to Sonthofen. The summit is very busy in the summer months, so if possible you shouldn't necessarily climb up during the season if you are looking for peace and quiet.

One of the summit crosses on this mountain trail. With a beautiful view, a short rest is appropriate here.

The three sun heads Sonnenkopf (1712 meters), Heidelbeerkopf (1767 meters) and Schnippenkopf (1833 meters) are wooded grass mountains and part of the thumb group. These are usually climbed from Hinang or Altstätten. The paths are sometimes quite steep but not difficult, when it is wet it is sometimes very slippery. The three peaks offer themselves as a circular route, Schnippenkopf and Sonnenkopf could each also be done on your own, the Heidelbeerkopf can only be reached via one of the other two peaks.
