On a picture you can see a rise on which the castle was built.
The Rothenburgers destroyed the castle in 1441 during the Franconian city war.
This was then no longer built on this site.
Instead, a castle was built on the Vorbach and protected with a moat.
Later the castle became a moated castle.
The moats were then filled in in the 19th century.
Today the castle contains the Schrozberg town hall.
