Robinias are relatively rare in Hohenlohe. These trees love warmth. This is why the trees are often found on the railway embankment along the railway line from Weikersheim to Schrozberg.
The wood is hard and weatherproof. It is used, for example, for planting sticks. This means that it is used to fix tree saplings in the forest. The sticks usually last for 10 years in all weathers. After that, the plants no longer need the sticks. They then rot away over the next few decades without leaving any residue.

It is warm along the railway line in the Vorbach valley. There you can find trees that love the warmth.
For me they were acacias and robinias. I thought it was one tree with two different names.
Now I have done some research and found that they are two different trees that are very similar.
The robinia comes from North America, loves warmth and is frost-resistant. It came from America at the beginning of the 18th century and was planted in parks and gardens.
The acacia comes from Africa and Asia and also loves warmth, but is not frost-resistant.
After careful comparisons, these are robinias that have settled along the tracks.
They are very rare in our area. I saw them recently in a warm side valley near the Kunigunden Chapel.
These trees did not exist in my hometown.
In Niederstetten in front of the old pharmacy there were two little trees.
I was told at the time that they were acacias (frost-resistant?)
