The island of Van Brienenoord is a Dutch island in an outer bend of the Nieuwe Maas near Oud-IJsselmonde. The island was created at the beginning of the 19th century by the silting up of a sandbar and is 21 hectares in size. It owes its name to baron Van Brienen van de Groote Lindt, who bought the island in 1847.
