Park De Twee Heuvels

It approx. 50 ha. large neighborhood park in IJsselmonde exudes the atmosphere of an old estate, but was laid out in 1971. The park owes its name to the two hills in the park.
The view from the highest hill suggests that the park stretches endlessly. Under these hills lies the rubble of old farms that had to make way for the construction of the park.The Park de two hills has a nice number of special trees from all parts of the world. Bats use the water features in the park as a hunting area. The kingfisher also appears here regularly.

Quiet for walking

The Park de Twee Hereken is relatively unknown in Rotterdam. A pity of course, because it is a beautiful green oasis in the middle of the city. High time to put the park back on the map and let more people enjoy the water-rich environment.
