The fieldstone church in Ohrdorf was built in 1235 on the foundations of a Vorganger church made of wood.
Perhaps there was an old ear well here that could have served as a baptismal site. The church was consecrated in Ohrdorf to St. Lawrence, a Christian martyr of the 3rd century.
