Mountain Biking Highlight

Small update: the lower part at Platzlegg is now clean and free of sticks and loose stones, but the "channel" is pretty washed out. Rocks half a meter high followed by extremely tight hairpin bends are not uncommon. I (as a local) would classify this piece more as an S3 and is only recommended for technically very experienced bikers.

Those who prefer it to be more technical, rooty and rocky - quasi more nature trail - are better served with the Tarscher Alm Trail (S2) than with the Barbarossa Trail running in parallel. It is hiking trail 1, the entrance at the top is easy to miss. You can still take the first piece of Barbarossa Trail to the forest path, but then follow the forest path briefly and at the crossroads straight over into the forest. The last part of the trail before Platzleng is currently not recommended. This rather gutter is closed with sticks and bones, is little fun. Possibly. therefore switch back to Barbarossa at the end.

A quite demanding trail. Steep and rocky. A well chosen line is an advantage here. Because there are often large, loose stones on this piece of trail.
