The Bergwitzsee is not a naturally formed lake, but the remaining opencast mine of the former Bergwitz opencast mine. Due to its very good bathing water quality, it is often used as a leisure and recreation area.
You can sunbathe on the beaches. There are boat and bike rentals, a campsite, holiday bungalows and even holiday homes that float on the water. No wishes remain unfulfilled for a short holiday on or by the water.
