Upper Pool is a large natural swimming hole above the main waterfall. Surrounded by red sandstone and fed by cascading water, the clear pool is a popular place to swim and relax midway through the walk. From its rocky edges, you can look down over the falls or swim close to the smaller cascades feeding the pool.

Hiking

Depending on the temperature and season, you might find the hike up to the upper pool demanding. Nevertheless, I strongly recommend wearing sturdy shoes.

One of the most impressive falls in the NT, the climb is a heated affair depending on the season (end of September over 40C on certain rocky sections), so take plenty of fluids with you. But definitely a worthwhile goal.
