This is a very short walk from the visitor centre to the lookout platform (worth seeing) then down to the lake (see monkeys, plus all the various tours all come to see the same 2 monkeys). The shore trail was off limits (hurricane damage). There is also a 3 hour trail but didn't have time and frankly

This is one of the standard hikes. Side trip to view Risco waterfall and back then on to 25 Fontes and return. Almost the wholewalk is in shade so great for a hot day.

This is a loop of the lake anti-clockwise from the drop off point of the little train, then one way back to town. The timing is misleading as I ran as well as hiked.

There are a few variations at different heights but the trails are always obvious, as is the direction to go in, in the absence of any heavy mist. This is the track you everyone walks who has a ticket to get into the site. As of May 2025, no loop trail was available - the end of this path was blocked and you turn round anc come back. Don't bother walking up the hill from the parking area, it is a steep road and the shuttle is only 3 euro return

The route at the summit is a bit compilacted as some of the area has been fenced off as private and a bar and restaurant has been built at the top. To reach the 2nd viewpoint you have to WALK THROUGH THE INDOOR RESTAURANT and out the other side. There is no signage but just do it.

The Castle is quite interesting. The walk there is not particularly and there is a bus going most of the way - IF the bus queues are not too long.

I think the trail has moved here and there with new steps put in as I followed an older Komoot route and it kept telling me I was off the trail.
