Hiking
Until 2003, the forest was a private hunting ground of the de Merode family. The 66-hectare forest is dominated by common oaks, with some also growing in the area. It is home to rowan, alder buckthorn, black alder, alder sedge, marsh marigold, wood anemone, celandine, musk plant, and wild honeysuckle. Wildlife includes the middle spotted woodpecker, hawk, buzzard, woodcock, stone marten, fox, roe deer, and slow worm.
