The Col de Riedmatten (2,918 meters) connects the Val des Dix with Arolla. The path over the pass is relatively steep and exposed on both sides. Keep your eyes open while crossing and pause for a moment to enjoy the view. ;)

If the weather is good and you have planned enough time, then take a long break. The views in both directions are magnificent! Gloves may be useful to have a better grip on the chains. The neighboring Goat Pass with ladders (Pas de Chevres) was closed due to massive rockfall.
