In Arolla, in the picturesque Val d'Hérens-Valais, the highest campsite in Europe is located at 1,950 meters. It is the ideal starting point for hikes and climbing tours and is open from June to September. There are tent and caravan sites, and there are also the so-called fixed luxury tents "Cocoon & Cozy".

The location is really unique. The place is very spacious and terraced. Sanitary standard a bit getting old but clean.
I was last there in August 2021. At night the temperatures drop to zero degrees...sleeping bags and extra blankets were called for ;-)

Great campervan site,
which unfortunately is no longer open—and will likely never be allowed to reopen. The mountains surrounding the campsite have been declared unsafe by the government.
