The cycle route “WWII in Zutendaal” was created following the Under the Radar project of the province of Limburg. In this project, conflict archaeological zones, mainly from WWII, were mapped using original aerial photography from '44-'45 and citizen research. The municipality of Zutendaal, Erfgoedbeweging Soennes & Swaerdes and Regionaal Landschap Kempen en Maasland worked together to bundle notable events and locations. The Munsterbos is a nice area where you will certainly find cooling and shade during these hot summer days. To the south west of the Munsterbos lies the Domeinbos Groenendaal. There are also places to discover picnic spots in these woods where you can enjoy your sandwich and/or drink.
