On April 12, 2010, nine people died on the Latschander in a mudslide on the Vinschger Bahn.
April 12, 2010 will remain unforgotten in the Vinschgau and far beyond as the day when, at 9 a.m., a train on the Vinschger Bahn was hit by a mudflow in the Latschander area between Kastelbell and Latsch. Nine people lost their lives and 28 people were injured.
