It is a Dutch Reformed church built in 1820.
Most likely, the stones from the former St. John's Chapel at the Prinsenhoef were used in its construction.
The Hall Church served as compensation to the Protestant community for the return of the Willebordus Church.
After the Second World War, this place of worship was no longer used for church services. On May 13, 1959, the church was put into use as an Archaeological Regional Museum 'in the context of the 1250th anniversary of Alphen'.
