The poachers' route follows in the footsteps of the Silix poachers and wood thieves, who covered their need for meat and wood 100 years ago in a not entirely legal way by poaching and stealing wood from the surrounding forests. Silixen was considered the stronghold of these activities. Interested hikers can find out a lot about local history on more than 20 information boards: where the field names come from, for example, or where the Silixer people drew their drinking water. The path also leads past the "King's Pine", the most magnificent specimen of its kind in Lippe forests, trenches from World War II and centuries-old boundary stones. So there is a lot to discover. Magnificent views complete the route. We warmly recommend a detour (300 m) to the family site, which offers very special views of the Kalletal.
