The 9 cellars in Hohlgasse were excavated by hand in 1926 and were used to cool food and beers from the Zeiss/Einwich brewery in Kremmeldorf, which still existed at the time. With temperatures of 8 degrees in summer and 10 degrees in winter, the beer was always fresh. Hence the saying "The beer must be fresh from the cellar".More about the history can be found on the information board on site.
