The 9 cellars in Hohlgasse were excavated by hand in 1926 and were used to cool food and beers from the Zeiss/Einwich brewery in Kremmeldorf, which still existed at the time. With temperatures of 8 degrees in summer and 10 degrees in winter, the beer was always fresh.
