Very nice place. The old town with the big market, the castle and the old walls around
is always worth a trip. Also called the city of love.

Architectural gem. Built in XIII, expanded in the fifteenth and nineteenth centuries.

        Chełmno City of lovers
The city on 9 hills visible in the coat of arms.
A city that was to be the capital of the Teutonic state.
Attraction - St. Valentine's relic in the parish church 🙂

The town hall was rebuilt in the Renaissance style in 1567–1572, with parts from the 13th century, one of the most important Renaissance buildings in present-day northern Poland [28]. Source: wikipedia

Incidentally, there are no ruins of socialism in the old town, at most from the Middle Ages. And apparently it was also spared from destruction in the Second World War. The closed old town center contains buildings that have been standing like this since the 19th century. In the meantime, they are being spruced up more and more. The main shopping street is currently being refurbished.

The town hall in Chełmno - erected at the end of the 13th century, it was expanded in the years 1567-1572 and again in the period 1884-1887. One of the most valuable monuments of the Polish Renaissance, the building is currently the seat of the Museum of the Chełmno Land.

Poland's second largest Old Town marketplace in such a small town that is always worth a visit. The old town is largely resurrected from the ruins of socialism. For northern European conditions, nice steep climbs - the city is quite hilly. Tip for travelers arriving by car: take parking fees seriously, otherwise is quickly cashed - practically the whole old city has paid parking, but the fees are low.

I don't know, being on the market in Chełmno - I ask an older woman (a local) what interesting things to see there - the answer is yyyy... churches.

My suggestions - entry to the church towers from 11:00 so it's worth adjusting the time of the trip.

There is an information point in the town hall, you can tear out a souvenir "A4" in the form of an old photo for free and take a brochure with information about what, where and how. The town has an atmosphere.
