The Otterton Ledge to the east of the mouth of the River Otter is a good example of a wave cut platform. This is where the sea has eroded the overlying cliffs leaving the flat rocky seabed exposed. As you walk around the headland and follow the SWCP east towards Sidmouth there are many examples.

The wetlands area is undergoing a major facelift and when completed later this summer will attract some fantastic and outstanding birds and wildlife. There are many view points recently added so make sure you visit with a pair of binoculars 😀
