The "Marklendorf 1" quarry lake, located east of Marklendorf on the B 214 highway, was created by gravel mining and is now managed by the Schwarmstedt "Aller-Leine" angling club. It covers approximately 3.5 hectares, is up to 4 meters deep, and offers excellent fishing opportunities with shallow shorelines and jetties. Part of the shore is designated as a protected rest area.
