In 1989 there was still a dilapidated chapel and a centuries-old hawthorn that kept each other straight. Unfortunately, the centuries-old hawthorn was removed during a more recent restoration, perhaps because the chapel was compromised by the thick growth of the tree trunk (approximately 2m in circumference).
Unfortunately, the new hawthorn was placed quite far from the chapel. The image of yesteryear, where the old hawthorn largely overshadowed the chapel, will no longer return...
