The Ems-Hase Canal is a side canal built between 1824 and 1828 between Hanekenfuhr near Lingen and Meppen in Lower Saxony. The canal ran from the Ems near Hanekenfahr, parallel east of the Ems to the Hase near Meppen, in order to avoid the many meanders of the Ems.
