The iron bark "Capella" ran aground and sank on November 20, 1903.
The remains of the iron bark "Capella" lie directly below in front of the small Bovbjerg Geology Museum. The stern seen on the right of the picture is below breakwater B and the fore part of the ship with the large iron mast is very close to land just south of breakwater B. The ship ran aground with its cargo of planks on November 20, 1903 in very bad weather. The planned journey was to go from Areal in Norway to South Africa.
