The Cologne artist collective Captain Borderline has been represented in international street art campaigns for years. You will also find numerous works by the group in Ehrenfeld. For example on Venloer Straße at the corner of Schönsteinstraße. Captain Borderline has erected a monument to the resistance fighters where members of the Cologne Edelweiss Pirates were executed during the Nazi era. The names of the victims are written on the walls of the underpass surrounded by edelweiss flowers. Next to it you can see a ship in which the Edelweiss Pirates are enthroned above the heads of the fascists.

Directly at the train station in Ehrenfeld in the area of today's Bartholomäus-Schink-Strasse, Schönsteinstrasse and Venloer Strasse, forced laborers were used by the National Socialist Secret State Police (Gestapo) and the Nazi Schutzstaffel (SS) on October 25, 1944 and November 10, 1944 and members of the Ehrenfeld group of “Edelweiss Pirates” were publicly hanged without judgment. A memorial plaque and murals on the arches of the railway underpass commemorate these injustices.
