The seven star is the symbol of the Fichtelgebirge. The region's flagship plant blooms from May to June. The delicate, lime-avoiding plant can be found in coniferous forests, in the acidic deciduous forests, moor edges, heaths and poor grasslands of the Fichtelgebirge. The plant is endangered in Bavaria, but fortunately not in the Fichtelgebirge.
In the logo of the Fichtelgebirgsverein (FGV) with its own magazine “Siebenstern”, this plant is represented as a representative of the rich vegetation of the low mountain range.
