The Schächerbach flows naturally through meadows, fields and forests. The name comes from the mhd. "Schachere" = robber, plunder. And so it is not surprising that ancient legends entwine around the numerous springs and ponds around the Schächerbachtal, which transport hikers back to bygone times.

  • Basically, I fully agree with the commentators with one exception: the watercourse described here and largely illustrated is not the Schächerbach but the ceiling brook! The hiking trail between the Black Sea and the Ernst Klapp fish pond runs parallel to the ceiling stream in this area, which joins the Schächerbach a little further east.
