Vennelystparken is a public park in Aarhus. It is the city's oldest park and was created between 1824 and 1830 between Vennelyst Boulevard and Nørrebrogade. Until the 19th century and up until the Second World War, it served as a backdrop for revues, circuses, concerts and plays.Today the park is part of the campus of Aarhus University. There are no permanent stages anymore, but the park is used for outdoor concerts, demonstrations and as a local recreation area.Vennelystparken is landscaped with large rolling grassy areas and a lake and stream running through the area. The trees are beech and chestnut.
