The sculpture is by the renowned Danish sculptor Bjørn Nørgaard (born May 21, 1947)The title of the sculpture is very similar "Ars - Scientia - Iustitia" - i.e. "Art - Science - Justice". A title that should remind every ruler that he has to reckon with criticism from research, free art and an independent judiciary. The bronze sculpture weighs more than a ton and is 6 meters high, was donated to AIAS by the New Carlsberg Foundation and consists of a Tower of Babel in the center, as a symbol of utopia, surrounded by three columns, each symbolizing art, science and justice . The 'Ars' pillar will face Vennelystparken, the 'Scientia' pillar to the university buildings and the 'Iustitia' pillar to the city of Aarhus.Besides its message, the sculpture also serves a more practical purpose; namely relaxation. “I imagine that you can sit here, lean against the sculpture and have a beer. It's both to look at and to sit on," said artist Bjørn Nørgaard.
