The decommissioned Grohnde nuclear power plant (KWG) is located on the Weser north of the district of Grohnde in the Lower Saxony municipality of Emmerthal in the Hameln-Pyrmont district. The central component of the former nuclear power plant was a pressurized water reactor of the 1300 MW construction line, which was built by Kraftwerk Union. The power plant was operated by the community nuclear power plant Grohnde GmbH & Co. oHG. Shareholders were PreussenElektra (83.3%) and Stadtwerke Bielefeld (16.7%). The operatorship was with PreussenElektra.[1]
