The Gothic church dates back to the city's Luxembourg era; it was founded in 1356 by the second bishop of Litomyšl as a monastery church and continued to exist even after the monastery was destroyed in the Hussite wars. In the 17th century it was then redesigned in the Baroque style.
Climbing the tower is possible for a small fee.
