The Bagbander Tief is a 17.41 kilometer long river, which is also known as the low in East Friesland. The river rises on the Ginsterstraße Wiesmoor-Hinrichsfehn and flows from there in a west-southwest direction to the mouth in the Boekzeteler Meer. It is part of the river and lowland system of the Fehntjer Depression in the Ems catchment area and is cut through by the Sautel Canal. With its near-natural course, which is unique in East Friesland today with numerous narrow meanders, the low is considered a typical geest and low-moor creek and is part of the flora-fauna-habitat area (FFH) "Fehntjer low and surroundings".
